International graduate and professional students must complete these time-sensitive steps to complete their enrollment and begin the visa process.

Begin these steps as soon as possible after you are admitted to allow enough time to complete the visa process before the start of the semester.

  1. Apply for your immigration document.
    • If you will study at WashU in F-1 student status or J-1 exchange visitor status, Apply for Your I-20 or DS-2019 as soon as possible. 
    • Remember that you must activate your WashU Key and email before receiving access to your MyOISS account.
  2. Complete the mandatory immigration course.
    • All international students are required to complete the Online F-1/J-1 Student Immigration Course before arriving on campus.
    • This course can be completed over multiple sittings. You must upload the Certificate of Completion as part of your immigration check-in.
  3. Apply for a visa and prepare for your arrival to campus.
